My List of Lists

This blog prompt was very exciting to me because it reminded me of "My Lists of Lists." This is sorta like a backwards bucket list I started making in the beginning of 2018. It a note on my phone where I keep track of all the new things I've done. I keep track of new movies, restaurants, coffee shops, books, TV shows etc. It's really fun for me because I get excited to add something new to the list and it also makes me grateful to see all the fun things and opportunities I have in life! Here are some screenshots from my List of Lists.

So maybe if a bucket list seems intimidating to make at first, start by making lists of things that you've already done!

Julia's Bucket List:

1. Go to Norway with my parents
I am 25% Norwegian and I would just really love to go to Norway with my parents. It's a dream of mine to take my parents somewhere and be able to pay for them entirely. Norway just seems like such a beautiful place and I would love to know more about my culture.
2. Go to the Ellen show
I will be able to cross this off of my bucket list tomorrow!!! I actually have been to Ellen's Game of Games and her show when their was a guest host, but tomorrow I'm going to the Ellen show where she will be hosting! She is one of my favorite people to watch and always is giving back to others so I am so excited to see her!
3. Open a coffee shop run by people with disabilities
This idea is really exciting to me. So many adults with disabilities cannot find employment and people underestimate how fulfilling it is to have a paying job. I would really love not only give people with disabilities a chance to work, but to show my community how capable people with disabilities are. In the meantime, I will be running a pop-up coffee shop on campus run by adults with disabilities called Best Buddies Brews. Our first pop-up will be on Wednesday, March 27th from 9-12 PM in the Student Union. This photo was taken at our first coffee training this past week.
4. Road trip to all 50 states
I have been to quite a few states, but I would love to see more of the East Coast and the South. I have never been to Washington D.C. and I want to spend some time there. I think this would be a fun bucket list item to do with my family when I'm older. I wish I had gone on more road trips as a kid and I think this is a super fun way to make family memories.
5. Start an Etsy business
I have no idea what I would sell on Etsy but I absolutely love making crafts! I would love to be able to have the time to use crafting as a creative outlet where I could also make some money too. Maybe I could see greeting cards or something like that.

  1. You are an inspiration. I just forwarded the coffee idea to a friend of mine at State who is very knowledgeable in the coffee industry, I think you'll have another helper here. That is so exciting! Reading your whole list made me smile.

If you don't have an organizer already try todoist to help organize all these big projects. Otherwise keep rocking!!

  2. Hi Julia,
I really enjoyed reading your blog. At first you really captured my attention because of your lists you make on your phone. I can relate because I love my lists that I keep on my phone too. However, mine are a little different because I will keep a bucket list on my phone of restaurants and coffee shops I want to visit and shows and movies I want to see. I like how you write down what you have already done though and be able to reflect on the fact that you get to have these opportunities and the chance to experience these things. Super cool! Furthermore, that will be so awesome for you to see Norway and experience your culture! I have been to Norway to visit my uncle, I am half Swedish so I love visiting both Sweden and Norway. Scandinavia is so beautiful! I would recommend to go in the summer if you can. I love Ellen and would love to go to her show as well, definitely on my bucket list too!
    Great post!

  3. I love this post, and I love your list of lists. For some reason, watching a list grow is very inspirational to me. I keep track of all the books I'm reading on Goodreads. It helps me stay focused on my reading. (Reading helps me stay emotionally healthy.)

I think I'm going to try this.
I hope you enjoyed Ellen's game show!
